MATTOON -- Team ITS, LLC has opened a downtown office from which it provides information technology support services for small to medium business clients in Coles County and the surrounding area.
Team ITS, formerly Information Technology Services, is locally owned and operated by senior IT consultant/President Mike Miller and senior IT consultant Eric Kline. Their office is located at 1402 Broadway Ave.
Miller has been an information technology consultant since 1988, including working on his own and with Amdocs, Inc. in Champaign and with West & Co. in Mattoon. He and Kline, who worked together prior to opening Team ITS, have nearly 50 years of collective experience in their field.
As a consultant, Miller said he has found that small and medium businesses in the area have a great need for the "enterprise class" information technology services that are utilized by large businesses. Miller said he opened Team ITS to focus on meeting this need with services that are affordable to small and medium clients, including schools, churches, nonprofits and other organizations.
"We are really proud of the quality of the work that we do and the experience that we have," Miller said. He added that, "Our goal is to empower our customers to make informed choices about their IT solutions."
Team ITS offers a full range of affordable enterprise class security, hardware, software, networking and managed services solutions for its clients, including those with multiple office locations and with staff members who work from outside the office. Miller said they work with clients who have no in-house IT staff and with those whose IT staff needs assistance with special projects.
They can monitor their clients' information technology systems to make sure these systems are running correctly and can provide services remotely from the Team ITS office. Kline said they are also available to answer calls for service outside of regular business hours, so their response times to these calls are good.
"We have really strong relationships with out clients. We communicate regularly," Miller said. "It's what sets us apart."
Miller said one of Team ITS' niches is to provide multiple backup solutions to protect their clients' data when their IT systems are damaged or hacked and providing disaster recovery services to recover data during these scenarios. He added that many IT system users do not know from day to day if their backups are working, which puts their data at risk.
"We want to protect their business because their business is our business," Kline said.
Team ITS is scheduled to give a presentation during a Cyber Security Breakfast, hosted by Mattoon Chamber of Commerce, at 7:30-9 a.m. Sept. 19 at Sarah Bush Lincoln's Lumpkin Education Center. Registration is available by contacting the Chamber at 217-235-5661 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
