SHOWING NOW UNTIL March 3

IN THE GALLERY

MARIE SAMUEL from Southern Illinois shows her "Full Circle in 2018," a show of mostly art quilts in which she has incorporated two dimensional work from her early years as an artist. Two watercolors from her early years show her interest in fabric design, also from many years past.

STUDIO D

Jacqui Worden from Charleston exhibits her pottery, mostly wheel thrown but also hand-built. Texture in clay is a big part of her creations.

IN THE MAIN HALL

Large oil skyscapes created by Carol Kessler fill the space. Due to their size and some of the space needed for elevator construction, only 6 paintings could be placed.

IN THE BEAUX ARTS BALLROOM

Besides the works of Carol Kessler, both 2- and 3-dimensional, and the permanent exhibit of the Illinois Student Art Association, Rembrandt Society, the south end is designated for junior work.

A new addition to this large room is the recent creations of Art Talk Tuesday. This display will change as new pieces are finished.

This area also houses the photo screens of Leonard da Vinci painting the Mona Lisa and van Gogh's Sunflowers in which people may be photographed with their faces in the spaces provided in order to become someone or something else.

A big draw to viewers in this room are the creations by Shelbyville students in Mrs. Cole's art classes. It is fairly easy to figure out the art elements she has introduced to her students. Texture and space are major ones in this grouping from kindergarten to 5th grade.
