University of Illinois Extension, in conjunction with Crawford County Master Gardeners and Lincoln Trail College, will host the 16th Annual Winter Day in the Garden Seminar on Saturday, January 27 at the Zwermann Arts Center.  This day-long event will feature well known perennial plant expert and author Roy Diblik from Wisconsin, award-winning author and plantsman Kelly Norris from the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden, and Alicia Kallal, Horticulture Extension Educator.

The seminar begins at 7:30 a.m. with breakfast and includes a hands-on herb plug planting experience, vendors, and lunch.  Six different speaker sessions will cover pollinator gardening, perennial plant communities, cultivating a rainbow, vegetables for the landscape, coming to know the plants, and plants with style.

The cost for the program is $35 if paid by January 16.  There is an optional speaker reception the night before at the Country View Inn & Suites in Robinson, which includes supper for $9.  Out-of-town guests are offered a discount at the same Inn.

To reserve your spot for this educational experience, please call University of Illinois Extension in Crawford County at 618-546-1549.  To register online visit go.illinois.edu/winterday
