MATTOON -- First Mid-Illinois Bank & Trust recently announced that Megan McElwee has been named vice president, credit administration manager. She will be responsible for the daily management of the Credit Department, consisting of a team of credit analysts responsible for underwriting commercial and agricultural loans throughout First Mid’s footprint.
According to a press release, McElwee began her banking career with First Mid in 2011 and has held roles as a Credit Analyst, Commercial and Ag Lender and most recently Assistant Vice President, Credit Analyst. Previously, she served as a Financial Analyst with Monsanto in St. Louis.
“We’re excited to have Megan step up to lead our Credit Department,” said Eric McRae, Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer. “Her experience and understanding of commercial credit will help keep us positioned for growth as we continue to expand our business customer base.”
McElwee earned a master of business administration from Eastern Illinois University and holds a bachelor of science degree in Agricultural & Consumer Economics with a concentration in Agricultural Finance from the University of Illinois. She is a mentor with Coles County ClassE and a volunteer with the Sarah Bush Lincoln Foundation Festival of trees and Special Olympics Family Festival.
