Dust off those fedoras and feathers and get all dolled up and dapper for “A Roaring Good Time” at the Charleston Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner and Awards Ceremony on Saturday, Jan. 27.

It will be the Cat’s Meow at this annual gala affair which takes place in the Grand Ballroom of the University Union on the campus of Eastern Illinois University.

The Grand Ballroom will be transformed into a Roaring 20’s Speakeasy with art deco black and gold decorations and lots of feathers and pearls.

The festivities begin at 5 p.m. with a Cocktail Hour and served hors d’oeuvres. Attendees can strike a pose at the Selfie Station or buy a ticket to select a wrapped bottle of wine from the wine pull. Live music will also be provided by a Jazz Quartet from EIU.

The annual meeting portion of the program will take place at 6:30 p.m. followed by the buffet dinner and more time to network.

After dinner, the program culminates with the presentation of awards. Lawyer-Richie Florist will be honored as the Small Business of the Year and the Outstanding Citizen of the Year Award will be presented to Dee Braden. The Diplomat of the Year will also be announced.

The cash bar will be open all evening. Dressy attire is appropriate for the event.
