At the February meeting, club officers were chosen. Jessica Bruner for President (Approved by Shelby Zellers, Seconded by Barb Zellers), Vice President Zach Davis (Approved by Kendal Bruner, Seconded by Barb Zellers), Treasurer Courtney Gossett (Approved by Shelby Zellers, Seconded by Jessica Bruner), and Secretary Shelby Zellers (Approved by Zach Davis, Seconded by Jessica Bruner).

The meeting was started off with a review of the 2017 show season. The club has decided to join the IWHSRA with Erin Bosecker (Approved by Misty Nussmeyer) and Misty Nussmeyer (Approved by Erin Bosecker) as the representatives, both seconded by Bob Zellers.

A packet was passed around the table for people to sign up to assist the club at the different shows for the 2018 season. Help is still needed. Jessica briefly discussed the plans for the Friday Night Light Series and IBRA shows. All the club's IBRA shows have been approved except the Aug. 18 show. It was discussed to possibly join the IPBA for both Illinois and Indiana. It was approved by Barb Zellers and Seconded by Mike Smith to change the number and type of awards handed out.

Many award ideas were given, including jackets, buckle display, button-ups, medicine boots, breast collars, headstalls, wither straps, vests, off-billets, chairs, and baseball caps, all of which would be customized in accordance to the prize. Misty Nussmeyer volunteered to donate the Masters’ Belt buckles.

It was also decided to reward points instead of money for the Friday Night Lights Series (5-4-3-2-1 for each division), approved my Misty Nussmeyer and seconded by Shelby Zellers.

A Clean Up Day and rain date was set for the upcoming season on April 14 at 1 p.m. with a rain date for April 28 at 1 p.m. The plans for cleanup day are to paint the arena and add shelving into the concession stand. Matt and Leslie Jansen and Marilyn Talbott have agreed to donate wire racks for the shelving.

As an effort to help the club grow, Jessica brought forth the idea of doing additional events that may include Tack Swaps, a Trail Ride, and an Award Banquet/Christmas Party. A Tack Swap has been set for the date of June 16 at the IBRA Show. Anyone willing to bring tack must pay a single $10 fee prior to setup. This event was approved by Erin Bosecker and seconded by Misty Nussmeyer. A date has not yet been set for the trail ride; many prefer a late September date. The Awards Banquet/Christmas Party is being planned for Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019. No time or location has been decided.

Sponsors were discussed, as they are currently looking for more sponsorships. In the past, Valley Vet and Riding Warehouse have donated the majority of the awards. T-Shirt/sweatshirt orders were taken for the members present.

The meeting was adjourned by Mike Smith and seconded by Erin Bosecker.
