SPRINGFIELD -- The Illinois Pork Producers Association in conjunction with the University of Illinois Extension and the Illinois Soybean Association are hosting four workshops on Common Swine Industry Audits throughout the state.
The Common Industry Audit was created by the National Pork Board to help prevent duplicate audits between packers and help make the process more consistent. The audits are voluntary, but many packers are making it a requirement for their producers.
The dates and locations for the workshops in Illinois are as follows:
Jan. 14, 1-4 pm, University of Illinois Extension office (Effingham), 1203 N. Wenthe Drive, Effingham.
Jan. 19, 1-4 pm, University of Illinois Extension office (Peoria), 4810 N. Sheridan Rd., Peoria.
All attendees will receive a binder of information and checklist to help them prepare for an audit. Those interested are asked to RSVP at least two days before the event. To RSVP call 217-529-3100.
The Illinois Pork Producers Association (IPPA) represents more than 2,000 pork producers throughout Illinois and the Illinois pork industry, which contributes more than $1.8 billion and more than 10,500 jobs to the state’s economy.
IPPA is comprised of county pork producer groups in approximately 20 counties throughout Illinois. IPPA is an affiliate of the National Pork Producers Council and the National Pork Board.
