CHARLESTON -- On Tuesday, Feb. 27 HOPE of East Central Illinois will host its 15th Annual “Bowls of HOPE” fundraiser featuring soups, sides, drinks and sweets from our generous volunteers and local businesses and hand-crafted bowls from talented community artists.
The event will be held at the Wesley United Methodist Church, 2206 4th St. in Charleston from 5 to 7 p.m. and will feature a dessert auction and live music by Five Mile Train. Tickets are $15 for soup and a hand-crafted bowl or $5 for soup only.
This event is open to the public. The staff and volunteers at HOPE encourage everyone to get there early and enjoy.
HOPE of East Central Illinois’ volunteers and staff enable people to live independent, non-violent lives through the provisions of Housing Outreach Prevention and Education. HOPE’s services include a 24-hour emergency shelter and hotline, transitional housing programs, legal advocacy, children’s programs, counseling, emergency transportation, community education, referrals and volunteer programs. Last year, more than 600 survivors of domestic violence received services from HOPE, and more than 150 survivors were safely sheltered.
