MATTOON -- Anna B. Brown, age 88, formerly of Mattoon passed away at 2:10 p.m. on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville, IL with her family by her side.
Funeral services honoring her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Schilling Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Strawn officiating. Burial will follow at Villa Grove Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Anna was born on July 28, 1929 in Villa Grove, the daughter of Ersal E. and Stella A. (Froman) Taylor. She married Arnold Brown in 1992. He preceded her in death in October 2007.
Survivors include her daughter, Charlotte (Russ) Holt of Maquon, IL; son, Glenn Berkheimer of Silverdale, WA; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and daughter-in-law, Debbie Berkheimer of Trilla, IL; Anna was preceded in death by her parents; son, Tim Berkheimer; one brother and one sister.
Anna was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mattoon where she was a member of the choir and also participated in the Joy Givers Organization. She loved flower arranging, gardening, traveling, oil painting and making ceramics. Most of all, Anna enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
