NEOGA -- George R. Clark, age 84 of Neoga and formerly of Charleston, passed away February 26, 2018 in Orange Lake, Florida. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Roselawn Cemetery in Charleston. Military Honors and Masonic Services will be conducted. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children or Illinois Elks Children’s Care Corporation and may be left at the graveside service or mailed in care of Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Dr., Charleston, IL 61920.
George was born January 23, 1934 in Charleston, the youngest of seven children born to the late John W. and Mary (McGauhey) Clark. He married Nancy McIlwain on May 9, 1954 and she survives. Also surviving are two children, Kevin Clark and wife Kathy of Charleston and Kim Yarnell and husband David of Cowden, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Kristen Clark and boyfriend Isaac Aldrich, Bryan Clark and wife Chelsea, Jill Clark, Jared McClain and girlfriend Jaime Bruder, Morgan McClain and fiancé Mitch White, Emily Yarnell and Hannah Yarnell; and two great-grandchildren, Madison and Weston Clark. George was preceded in death by all his siblings.
George was a 1953 graduate of Charleston High School and a United States Army Veteran. He was the owner of Frommel Hardware in Charleston and a partner in C & C Mechanical.
