MARTINSVILLE — H. Wayne Hall, 69, of Bourbon, formerly of Martinsville, died at 11:09 a.m. Friday (July 26, 2013) at his residence.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Greenwell Funeral Home in Martinsville with the Rev. Ivan Bennett officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Martinsville. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
He was born Oct. 20, 1943, in Moriah, the son of Melvie Lewis Hall and Ruby Caroline Kuhn Hall. He married Shirley Mozell Phipps in 1960; she died in 1983. He later married Sonja R. Coale in 1991; she survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Marrinda Schoen of Plainfield, Ind., and Penny Miller of Fisher; one son, Timothy Wayne Hall of Vista, Ark.; one step-daughter, Denise Harrison of Enfield; two sisters, Rosemary Smith of Casey, and Brenda Beasley of Martinsville; one brother, Charles Hall of Salem, Ore.; 11 grandchildren; and nine great- grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, and one brother.
Mr. Hall was formerly employed as an oilfield driller for Farrar Drilling. He later retired from the University of Illinois maintenance department. He was a US Army veteran, and was a member of American Legion Post #88, and the Loyal Order of the Moose, both in Mattoon.
