MATTOON -- The funeral service for Norman C. Hatfill was held Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, located at 1200 Wabash Avenue, Mattoon, IL 61938, with Pastor Kevin Wolfe officiating. “America the Beautiful” by Frank Sinatra, “How Great Thou Art” by Carrie Underwood, and “What A Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong were played during the funeral service.

Burial took place at Janesville Cemetery in Lerna, IL. Pallbearers were Dr. Steve Hatfill, Lance Bickel, Nathan Clapp, Steve Hardin, Alex Johns, Greg Bruner, and Dennis McConaha. Honorary Pallbearers were Tom Comer, Paul Farmer, Dale Hoots, Tom Seaman, Preston Smith, and Earl Walden.

Military rites were given by the following members of VFW Mattoon Post 4325: Commander Ed Davis; Chaplain Bill Thornton; Bugler Doc Dufrain; Color Guard Ron Parkerson, Tom Burcham, Tom Masse, and Ray Hoffman; Firing Squad Ed Brick, Wayne Cox, Gene Hampson, Dana Denny, Don Janes, Hardy Williams, Harland Latch, and Mike Boner.

Norman C. Hatfill, age 89, of Mattoon, IL, passed away at 6:50 A.M., Wednesday, November 29, 2017.
