CHARLESTON -- James Oliver Lang, age 78 of Charleston, passed away peacefully in the presence of his family on Wednesday, September 20, 2017. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Adams Funeral Chapel beginning at 10:00 a.m. and will conclude at noon with Masonic Services to be conducted by members and guests of the Charleston and Hutton Masonic Lodges. There will be no funeral services. It is requested that thoughtful donations in his honor be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Gifts may be left on the memorial table at the visitation or mailed in care of Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Dr., Charleston, IL 61920.
Jim was born February 17, 1939 in Charleston, Illinois, one of eight children born to Jesse E. and Lou Irene (Peterson) Lang. He married Myra L. Titus on May 27, 1960 at his parent’s home in Charleston. In addition to Myra, he is survived by a daughter, Kimmy Schaefer and husband Curt of Charleston, two sons, Ronnie Lang and wife Suzie of Keystone Heights, Florida, and Jimmy Lang of Peoria, Arizona; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Danny (Carolyn) Lang and Mike (Genia) Lang of Charleston; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Carol Lang; three brothers, Edmund Gary and Tony Lang, and two sisters, Betty Lou Davis and Vickie Sue Woolever.
