MATTOON -- Lorraine Lorretta Knotts, age 83, of Mattoon passed away at 8:57 a.m. on Friday, September 8, 2017 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
Funeral services honoring her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Schilling Funeral Home with Reverend Derold Doughty officiating. Burial will be held at a later date. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Lorraine was born on July 13, 1934 in Decatur the daughter of Walter Clarence and Mary Gabriella (Bell) Miller. She married Paul Mitchell Knotts on July 13, 1952. He preceded her in death on October 29, 1997.
Survivors include her daughters, Shirley Loretta (William) DeRixson of Mattoon, IL, Lori Ann (Hank) Croft of Mattoon, IL, Connie ( Ron ) Branstetter of Olney, IL; grandchildren, Jeffery (Amber Scoles) DeRixson, Joseph DeRixson, Jimmy DeRixson, Jessica Dearnbarger, Mara Dearnbarger, Katherine Croft, Joshua Croft, Jason Swanson, Daniel Swanson, Angie Branstetter; great- grandchildren, Gage DeRixson, Garrett DeRixson, Lux DeRixson, Kamyle DeRixson, Piper Graham, Kaden Graham, Madelyn Swanson, Grayce Swanson, Addison Shewmaker; and sister, Yulanda (Reid) Wright Fulton, MO. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, two sons, and two brothers.
Lorraine worked as a waitress at various truck stops in Effingham, IL. She also worked at Cookie truck stop in Mattoon. Lorraine spent many years volunteering at the Salvation Army Church and in the store. She liked to read, do puzzle books, and watch TV, she enjoyed westerns the most.
Memorial donations in her honor are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
