MATTOON — Kathryn Joyce Marshall, age 76, of Mattoon, IL passed away at 2:35 p.m. on Wednesday July 24, 2013 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral Services honoring her life will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday July 27, 2013 at Schilling Funeral Home, 1301 Charleston Avenue, Mattoon, IL with Reverend Dennis Strawn officiating. Burial will follow at Dodge Grove Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday July 26, 2013 at Schilling Funeral Home.

Joyce was born on January 15, 1937 in Keenes, IL the daughter of Gene and Esther (Bradford) Harper. She married Delmar Dean Marshall on August 26, 1956. He preceded her in death on October 13, 2009.

Survivors include three daughters, Kathy (Mike) Liay of Tullahoma, TN, Karen (Mike) Park of Elburn, IL and Teresa Orr (fiancé Clint Hooser) of Phoenix, AZ; son, Michael Marshall of San Diego, CA; five grandchildren, Michael Liay of St. Paul, MN, Geoff Liay of Tullahoma, TN, Austin Park of Elburn, IL, Wes (Kelly) Orr of Phoenix, AZ and Whitney (Brian) Brown of Tucson, AZ; six great grandchildren, Lily, Rigley, Jarren, Bryce, Jayson and David; two sisters, Carolyn Galey of Paxton, IL and Marilyn Harper of Rantoul, IL. Joyce was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Dean Marshall; parents and two sisters, Pam and Paula Roberts.

Joyce retired from Illinois Consolidated Telephone Company after 37 years working as a Chief Operator. She then worked 10 years at First Mid Illinois Bank. Most recently, she has been employed at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center. Joyce was a member of the First Baptist Church, American Business Women’s Association and the IAL Pioneer Club. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and shopping. Most of all, Joyce loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Memorial donations in her honor may be given to the Exchange Club or the Lincolnland Hospice.

    I am so sorry to have not been able to convey my condolences to you (especially Karen) in person at the visitation. You have all been in my thoughts and prayers. Joyce was a very special lady, and we will all be experiencing loss at her passing. I pray that you will all know God's special comfort at this time of your grief.

    Joyce was a very good friend and will greatly missed. I worked with Joyce at First Mid-Illinois Bank, and she was always happy and cheerful. Mike know that you are receiving all of my prayer prayers, in this time of need. Your mother was a good friend and a great lady, and I'll miss her a lot. You Take Care of Yourself!! and May God watch over you in this time of need, and know that he is with you always. I am so sorry for the entire families loss, may God Bless each of you.

    So very sorry to hear of your loss. Joyce was such a happy person with an always ever present smile and hello anytime you saw her. I hope you draw strength from the many wonderful memories you have made with her.
