NEOSHO, Mo. -- Robert F. Dalton, 92, passed into the arms of God January 22 at home in Neosho MO. Born in Mattoon IL on May 28, 1925 to John and Edith (Logsdon) Dalton.
His two sisters, Bernie and Betty, and three brothers, Bill, Jim, and Jack, have all preceded him in death.
Bob enlisted in the Navy for WW2, seeing heavy combat action in the Pacific, docking in Tokyo shortly after the Surrender. On April 2, 1946, he married Carolyn Myers in Mattoon IL, sharing nearly 51 years of marriage prior to Carolyn’s death in January 1997.
He is survived by their children: Barbara Arnold of Greenwood, Indiana, Robert (Kay) Dalton of Winter Haven, FL, Linda (Bob) Gines of Loxahatchee, FL, Dian (Les) Jordan of Webb City, Mo, and Julie (Jeff) St. Clair of Neosho, MO, along with 12 Grandchildren, 30 Great Grandchildren, 12 Great-Great-Grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a hardworking independent businessman, whose first priority was always providing for his family. Clear of mind and quick of wit to his last hours, that part of him remained true to character.
