MARTINSVILLE -- Dr. Roy Max Stephen, age 67, of Martinsville, IL passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2017. He was born September 20, 1950 on the family homestead, son of Max Henry and V. Ruth Perisho Stephen.

He is survived by his daughter, Megan Stephen Dennison and husband Adam and their daughters, Mia and Emelia of Buffalo, IL; stepdaughters, Dustha Wahls and husband Eric and family and Kristin McVey.

Roy was a 1968 graduate of Casey High School served his country in the US Army from 1972 – 1974 as a flight medic in I-9 CAV. Roy earned his Bachelor degree from Southern Illinois University and his Master degree and PhD from University of Illinois in Soil Chemistry. He previously taught at Tuscola High School and Lake Land College. Roy was always very active in the agricultural community and owned and operated Arise Research and Discovery, Inc. in rural Martinsville, IL from 1994 to present.

A gathering for family and friends will be held from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. (Prayer Service 11:15 a.m.) on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Arise Research and Discovery office, 3998 E. Snake Trail Rd., Martinsville, IL.
