EFFINGHAM -- Heartland Dental is hosting a continuing education seminar for all Lake Land College Dental Hygiene alumni as part of the college’s Laker Homecoming celebration.
The seminar, titled "Growing Partnerships to Advance Patient Care," is free of charge to Lake Land alumni and will be held at Heartland Dental, 1200 Network Centre Drive in Effingham, on Friday, Sept. 29, from 1-3 p.m. Two continuing education hours will be earned through this seminar.
Following the seminar, Heartland Dental and Lake Land College alumni are hosting a networking event with hors d’oeuvres and refreshments.
In this seminar, attendees will discover ways to grow their leadership, enhance patient care through oral cancer screenings, and promote a positive office culture. They can advance their patient care by increasing partnership with their doctor to add adjunctive services and by developing a synergy among team members; learn how to prioritize their growth in leadership and how to continuously inspire themselves and others; and create or support effective partnership meetings to improve communication with their doctor, team members, and patients.
Janoa Hayes, LDH, senior hygiene mentor of Heartland Dental, is the guest speaker. She has an associate degree in dental hygiene from Lexington Community College and has actively practiced dental hygiene since 1999. In her current role, she supports growth in hygiene leadership and patient care advancement at Heartland Dental.
As a senior hygiene mentor, Hayes is active as a continuing education course presenter, mentor and coach to other clinical team members and mentors. She is a member of AHDA and IDHA and lives in Indianapolis with her husband and daughter.
