People can register at EIU to be bone marrow donors
CHARLESTON -- Colleges Against Cancer & AED are working to stop cancer. They are registering individuals to be swabbed to become bone marrow donors. Just come to Eastern Illinois University from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday at the EIU MLK Bridge Lounge, 1720 Seventh St., to help and to complete paperwork.
Individuals must be between ages 18 to 55. Please help these two RSO's work to promote bone marrow donation. The inside of your cheek will only be swabbed with a Q-tip on Tuesday.
First Christian Church to hold Cookie Walk
MATTOON -- First Christian Church will be hosting its annual Cookie Walk from 8:30-noon Saturday, Dec. 2.
There will be a large selection of homemade cookies and treats for sale. This years event will feature a quilt exhibit.

Mattoon Eagles to hold Ladies Holiday Bazaar
MATTOON -- The Mattoon Ladies Auxiliary is hosting a holiday vendor bazaar to benefit Coles County Animal Shelter and the Food Pantry from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 2 at the Mattoon Eagles, 1917 Oak Ave.
Individual consultants and crafters will be set up to help with all your holiday shopping needs. Admission price includes a donation to the animal shelter or a donation of at least two non perishable food items or $2; all monetary donations will be split between the two organizations.
