Teen Craftivity event to be held at library
CHARLESTON -- Teen Craftivity will meet from 5-6 p.m. Tuesday in the Zone at the Charleston Carnegie Public Library. Middle school and high school students are invited to make a featured Do It Yourself project, then take it home.

Astronomy night to be held at library
CHARLESTON -- The Charleston Carnegie Public Library’s Astronomy Night will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the library parking lot if the sky is clear.
Telescopes will be set up for participants' use and guided viewing in an informal question and answer format. This drop-in program is free and open to the public, but children under 13 must bring an adult. Feel free to bring your own telescope.

American Legion Auxiliary Quarter Auction set
MATTOON -- The American Legion Auxiliary Quarter Auction is scheduled to be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, with bidding starting at 6:30 p.m. Food and drink will be available.
The auction will feature more than 20 vendors of crafts, books, toys, purses, wallets, yard decor, makeup, gift certificates, kitchenware, and other items.
The auction is a monthly event, held the third Thursday of each month, with profits going to American Legion Auxiliary projects. This month the proceeds will go to Mattoon Middle School Flag Corps. The proceeds will benefit the flag corps in procuring uniforms, flags, and accessories. The last auction was for Legion Family Christmas Baskets. They earned $624 for their project.
The American Legion is located at 1903 Maple Ave.
Chocolate presentation to be held at historical society
ROBINSON -- The Crawford County Historical Society will host a presentation "Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate: The Heath Candy Story" on Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m.
Refreshments will be served. The museum is located at 408 S. Cross St.
