Duplicate Bridge results announced

CHARLESTON -- The results of the duplicate bridge game played on April 9 are:

The next game will be at 6:45 p.m. Monday at the First Christian Church in Charleston.

Greenup library to host book sale

GREENUP -- The Greenup Township Library is scheduled to host its spring book sale during the week of Monday, April 16.

A large selection of fiction titles and some non-fiction will be available for purchase at the library, 101 N. Franklin St. All items in the sale have been donated by local patrons. Proceeds from the sale will be used to support library programing.

The library is open noon-8 p.m. Monday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, noon-8 p.m. Thursday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday each week. More information is available by calling the library at 217-923-3616 or visiting http://www.greenup.lib.il.us/.

Books Between Bites to hold meeting

MATTOON -- Books Between Bites participants will meet in the conference room of the Mattoon Public Library at noon Monday.

Carol Armstrong will review the "The Forgotten Life of Sarah Grady" book by Mary Lynn. In 1970, a box of love letters were found in an estate house in Decatur. Sarah Grady was a top socialite of the area and her husband was an industrialist. In 1920 Sarah Grady disappeared. Whatever happened to Sarah Grady?

Come and join the group. The public is invited and you may bring a sack lunch if you so desire. Coffee and ice tea will be served.

Aquatic Conservation Youth Program
schedule at Charleston library

CHARLESTON -- An Aquatic Conservation Youth Program will be presented by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources for children grades K-6 at the Charleston Carnegie Public Library at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Craft Room.

This interactive program will focus on creatures that live in water and why it is important to practice good stewardship of this natural resource. The program uses several live specimen encounters with these aquatic conservation ambassadors. This program will also feature a craft involving painting with silicone fish, so be sure to bring a T-shirt to decorate. This is a free program and is open to the community. Casey-Westfield Band to hold Spring Jazz Concert

CASEY -- The Casey-Westfield Band Department is scheduled to present its annual Spring Jazz Concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Casey Nazarene Church.

Tickets are now on sale from band members or by calling the high school, and are $10 per person. There will be a catered dinner and silent dessert auction. The dinner menu includes grilled hamburgers, grilled tenderloins, deviled eggs, macaroni and cheese, fruit salad, and iced tea or lemonade.
