Alpha Upsilon to hold annual Christmas party

Guns Save Life to hold monthly meeting
CHARLESTON -- The monthly meeting of Guns Save Life will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Banquet Room at Unique Hotel, 920 West Lincoln Ave.
All meetings are open to the public and are family friendly. An optional catered dinner, prepared by The Brickhouse Restaurant, will be available at 6 p.m. No reservations are required.
The scheduled main speaker will be David I. Griffett IV, president and CEO of Griff Consulting & Safety, who intends to present information on how to protect yourself and your home. There will also be legislative updates, a 50/50 drawing, and the monthly drawing for a gun.

EIU to host annual holiday celebration at Old Main
CHARLESTON -- Eastern Illinois University invites community members and EIU advocates to attend the university’s annual holiday celebration in Old Main’s Cougill Foyer from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. The 2017 celebration theme is “Together We Roar.”
Attendees will be treated to holiday music and light refreshments, and can enjoy trees decorated by area students from Ashmore, Carl Sandburg, Jefferson, Lake Crest and Mark Twain elementary schools.

Casey-Westfield to hold annual Christmas jazz concert
CASEY -- The Casey-Westfield Band Department will present the annual Christmas jazz concert at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Casey Nazarene Church. Tickets are now on sale from high school and junior high band members or by calling the High School, $10 per person. Please reserve tickets in advance.
There will be a catered dinner and silent dessert auction. The dinner menu includes: smoked pork chops, Tuscan chicken breast, mashed potatoes, homemade noodles, green beans, pasta salad, spinach salad with vinaigrette, homemade dinner rolls, iced tea/lemonade.
