TOLEDO — A benefit for Terry L. Kelley, formerly of Casey and Westfield, will be held Dec. 1 at the Toledo American Legion.
Kelley, 57, now of Jewett, has been diagnosed with esophagus, lung and stomach cancer. It is now in his lymph nodes.
He served in the U.S. Navy and worked at Trailmobile until it closed.
Kelley has been without a job since June and has lost all his benefits. He has applied for many types of assistance, but has been denied.
His family includes his wife, five daughters and eight grandchildren.
A poker run will be held from 1-4 p.m., with sign ups at noon. The fee is $10 per person and $5 for an extra hand.
There will be game show games, bag toss games and more from 1-5 p.m. The cost is $3 to enter, and family discounts are available.
From 4- 8 p.m. an all-you-can-eat chili dinner will be served for $5 per person. A pool tournament will begin a 5 p.m.
Additional events include DJ Jim Burson, an auction and raffles.
