Worship In the Woods to be held at campground
SULLIVAN -- Worship In the Woods is a time to gather to worship God and his son Jesus. They will meet at 7 tonight at the amphitheater at Forrest W. Bo Woods recreation area south of Sullivan on Illinois Route 32 to sing worship songs, have a devotion, and enjoy a camp fire and s'mores.
This event is open to the public. If you want to stay the night at the camp ground, go to https://www.recreation.gov/camping/forrest-w-bo-wood/r/campgroundDetails.do?contractCode=NRSO&parkId=73182 to reserve a site or go to the campground for a "first come, first served" site. Prices range from $18 for tent (electric only), $24 for full hook up, or $40 for a buddy site.
Rummage and bake sale to be held this weekend
MATTOON -- Come to the Marshall Avenue Christian Church's church-wide rummage and bake sale from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m.-noon Saturday with bargains galore including books, toys, household items, gently used clothing and more. And don't forget the homemade goodies: pies, cakes, cookies, breads, noodles.

New Beginnings to host free community breakfast
EFFINGHAM -- New Beginnings Church in Effingham will be hosting a free Community Breakfast from 8-10 a.m. Saturday. New Beginnings Church is located at 1007 S. Willow at the corner of S. Willow and Wabash, just south of Homewood Grill.

Ignite Student Ministries Extravaganza to be held
SULLIVAN -- Join ISM for a night to be remembered from noon-9 p.m. Saturday as they embark on a day of movies, games, and fellowship.
They will have an officially sanctioned Pokemon tournament led by Professor Pastor Brandon Zoll, a Star Wars Movie marathon starting with "Rouge One," and multiple tables set up for your favorite board games.
Snacks and drinks will be provided and around 5 p.m. we will have pizza from Little Caesars. Students will be home by 9:30 p.m. if they ride in the van.

CHARLESTON -- The Charleston Bible Church will be celebrating its 75th anniversary during the 10 a.m. worship service Sunday. The service will consist of special music, a time to remember and sharing from the Word of God.

Monthly Vigil for Life scheduled
EFFINGHAM -- The Effingham Deanery Monthly Prayer Vigil for Life will be held at Sacred Heart Church on Monday. Prayer Service will begin at 6 p.m.; there will be no mass due to the Priest's Convocation in Springfield. Everyone is invited to join them in prayer for respect of all life, born and unborn.
The 7 p.m. business meeting will follow in the church parish center. Refreshments will be served while current pro-family legislation and local pro-life events are discussed. Information from the Conference on Aging will be shared and updates on the 40 Days for Life Campaign, which starts Sept 27.
