Spiritual Deepening Weekend planned at church

MATTOON -- Mattoon East Side Church of the Nazarene is hosting a Spiritual Deepening Weekend this weekend, Friday-Sunday.

Former missionary and pastor and current church planter Jon Kroeze will be speaking this evening at 7 p.m.; Saturday Prayer Breakfast at 9 a.m.; Saturday evening service at 7 p.m.; then Sunday Services at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.. All services are open to the community.

Dare 2 Share Live to be held at New Life

Old State Road Christian Church thankful for support

CHARLESTON -- The Old State Road Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, of Charleston completed their recent drive on Aug. 25. They collected 59 pairs of eyeglasses, 32 eyeglass cases, 22 cellphones, six chargers, four bluetooth devices and two pairs of hearing aids. They want to thank everyone who donated, as all of these items will be put to good use.

All items were donated to the Lions Club or the local Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
