DANVILLE — Eastern Illinois University’s College of Education and School of Continuing Education will offer Middle Level Endorsement courses at Danville Area Community College this upcoming summer term.
These courses will emphasize instruction in areas appropriate for many grade levels.
The first course, “Principles and Procedures” in the middle level schools, will combine components for middle school curriculum and organizational patterns, as well as fulfill portions of the ISBE requirements for middle-level endorsement.
The course will take place on May 17-18, May 31-June 1, June 7-8 and 21-22. The course is scheduled through the evening on Fridays and all day Saturdays.
The second course, “Interdisciplinary Curriculum” in the middle-level school, will stress interdisciplinary organization of curriculum and instructional techniques appropriate for middle-level schools.
The instruction will cover content areas appropriate for grades 6-8, including enhancement of instruction with available technology. This course will take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from May 9 through June 11.
