February brings fun for the kids at the Mattoon YMCA. Two great upcoming events include MY Nights for the middle school kids and Parents’ Night Out for youth ages 1 to 14.
MY Nights will take place on Saturday, Feb. 17, from 6-8 p.m.. These two hours are full of activities for kids in 6th through 8th grades. Regardless of where you go to school, youth may attend this event for $5 per child.
MY Nights will include Dance Dance Revolution, dodgeball, basketball, pizza and karaoke with DJ Genta. The Y staff is grateful this month’s MY Night volunteers, which include Eastern Illinois University Men’s tennis team.
If your kids will be attending MY Nights, we ask that you drop them off at the front door and pick them by 8 p.m. as this is an after-hours event.
Another exciting planned evening is Parents’ Night Out. This will include activities for youth ages 1 to 14 from 6-10 p.m.. Bring the kids to the Y for movies, games and pizza while you enjoy a night just for you! Your kids will be in the care of our staff while you enjoy a date night, shopping, a movie, or however you would like to spend ‘YOU’ time. School-age kids will also have the opportunity to swim between 7:30-9 p.m..
All youth must be registered before attending Parents’ Night Out and you do not have to be a member to attend. The fee is as follows: $20 for one child and $10 for each additional child within the family. Prices will increase by $5 per child the day of the event so we encourage you to register early for the best pricing and to help our staff plan for the numbers of kids in attendance.
