CHARLESTON — Eastern Illinois University’s School of Continuing Education will host a voice over course on April 2 titled “Getting Paid To Talk: An Introduction to Professional Voice Overs.”

The course will be from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at EIU’s Doudna Fine Arts Center, Room 2340.

Presented by Voice Coaches, the course will teach attendees about how voice overs work, which voices are hired most, why there’s an increased demand for new voices, how to create a winning demo and where to begin.

Voice Coaches provides professional training to individuals and is exclusively dedicated to providing education in the dramatic arts. The course discusses the advances in recording technology, and how the growth of the Internet is increasing demand for training and educational material, leading to the expansion of the voice over field. Professional voice opportunities around the community will be discussed.

The cost to register is $25 for EIU students and $40 for community members. To register, call the School of Continuing Education at 581-5114
