MATTOON — St. John’s Lutheran Church in Mattoon provided the setting for the wedding of Kallie Adkins of Mattoon and Scott Harris of Terre Haute, Ind.
They were married June 22, 2013 in a double-ring ceremony. She was escorted by her father.
Decorations included navy blue and silver colors.
The bride is the daughter of Joy and Verne Adkins of Mattoon. The groom is the son of Sharon and Dan Harris of Crown Point, Ind.
Pastor Troy Countryman officiated the 3 p.m. wedding. Pianist and vocalist Rachel Warfel provided the music. One of the songs included was “I Will Be Here,” by Stephen Curtis Chapman.
Elizabeth Ramsey of Mattoon served the bride as her matron of honor.
Her bridesmaids were: Nikki Brown and Mindy McCollum, both of Effingham; Heather Veach and Elizabeth Wilhelm, both of Mattoon; and Jennifer Vance of Marion.
Dan Harris of Crown Point, Ind. was the groom’s best man.
His groomsmen were: Brian Loomis and Dave Fox, both of Terre Haute, Ind.; Kyle Brown of Dyer, Ind.; David Heeringa of Indianapolis, Ind.; and Skylar Lyon of Brazil, Ind.
Ushers seating the guests were: Korey Adkins, brother of the bride, of Champaign; and Billy Ramsey of Mattoon.
The flower girl was Maggie Loomis, daughter of Valerie and Brian Loomis; and the ring bearer was Owen Bales, son of Carrie Bales and the late Kelly Bales.
Programs and bubbles were distributed by Valerie Loomis and Melissa Fox, both of Terre Haute.
Guests were welcomed at a reception at the Walkway, where a catered meal and music was also provided.
The bride earned a bachelor’s in elementary education from Eastern Illinois University. She is a fourth-grade teacher at St. John’s Lutheran School.
The groom earned a bachelor’s in music education at Indiana State. He is employed as the athletics director at St. John’s Lutheran School and at Terminix.
The couple took a honeymoon trip to Charleston, S.C. They reside in Mattoon.
