CHARLESTON (JG-TC) — Three of Eastern Illinois University entries in the 2012 Pride of CASE V Awards were selected as winners.

Each year, CASE (the Council for Advancement and Support of Education) presents its Pride of CASE V Awards program, honoring institutions and individuals who demonstrate outstanding achievement in the concept and execution of advancement programs and communications.

Award-winners are chosen from entries submitted by the nearly 400 universities and colleges represented in Great Lakes District V (Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Wisconsin).

Eastern’s Communications, Marketing and Brand Strategies office learned that it received a Gold Award in the Best Program in Case Statements/Cultivation Publications category for its “EI&U: Expect Greatness” case statement booklet—the anchor print piece for the “EI&U: Expect Greatness” capital campaign. The $50 million goal of the campaign was surpassed two years early, and the case statement was deemed an integral part of that overall success.

Eastern also received two Bronze Awards in the Excellence in Photography category: one for “Cavalier at Dusk” under People and Portraits and one for “IHSA State Track and Field Hipstamatic Style” under Photo Essay. Photographer Jay Grabiec and designer Pete Taylor were responsible for the photography entries.

The awards will be officially presented during the CASE District V and VI annual conference that is scheduled to take place in December in Chicago.
