CHARLESTON (JG-TC) -- The three local residents who had announced their interest in the 110th state representative seat previously have filed to be on the March primary ballots, according to State Board of Elections records.

Chris Miller, an Oakland farmer, and Terry Davis, owner of Towne Square Jewelers, have filed for the Republican bid for the position.

Shirley Bell, a retired Eastern Illinois University professor of Mattoon, filed for the Democratic nomination.

State Rep. Reggie Phillips, R-Charleston, announced earlier this year that he would not seek a third term.
