CHARLESTON (JG-TC) -- Before Dec. 25, Santa Claus will be making calls to city children next week.

The city's annual Santa hotline event where "Santa" makes a call out to those who sent him letters will take place from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Dec. 14th.

In order to be on his list of those to call, those interested are urged to register with the Parks and Recreation Department at 520 Jackson Avenue or online on the city website.

The deadline to register is 5 p.m. Friday. By that time, mailed-in or dropped off letters to Santa are also expected. The letters should include the child or children's name, address, phone number, birth date, school grade, pet's name and a couple of toys or other gifts requested. Each child should be listed separately.
