CHARLESTON (JG-TC) -- A Charleston man was arrested after allegedly making a scene at the Charleston Walmart on Saturday.

John C. Grissom, 30, was reportedly "acting strangely, chasing customers and displaying erratic behavior," according to Charleston police.

Police officials stated that officers responded to a disorderly conduct complaint at 1:23 p.m. that day at Walmart. When officers attempted to engage in a conversation with Grissom, he allegedly became agitated. Police officials note he was clenching his fists.

Officers later attempted to handcuff Grissom, who then allegedly resisted officers. It was discovered that he had evidence of unlisted narcotics on his person after a search was conducted.

Grissom was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and resisting an officer. He was sent to the Coles County jail pending bond.
