MATTOON (JG-TC) -- Police officers arrested a Charleston man after a foot pursuit early Friday morning.
A Mattoon Police Department press release reported that Corey E. Brewer, 26, was arrested at 1:42 a.m. in the 2400 block of Shelby Avenue on charges of driving while license suspended and resisting a police officer.
The charges allege that Brewer was operating a motor vehicle on a public street while his license to drive was suspended, and that he fled from the car on foot after being pulled over by police in the 2900 block of Dewitt Avenue. Brewer was subsequently apprehended in the 2400 block of Shelby. Brewer posted bond for the offenses and is scheduled to appear in court.
In other matters, Nile J. Hieronymus, 40, homeless, was arrested at 8:31 a.m Thursday in the 2400 block of Charleston Avenue. Hieronymus was wanted on a Macon County warrant of arrest for a family offense. Hieronymus was taken to the jail.
Separately, Andrew L. Holland, 29, of Mattoon was arrested at 2:42 p.m. Thursday at the police station and was charged with three counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child. The charges allege that Holland molested two children. Holland was taken to the jail.
