CHARLESTON (JG-TC) -- A 41-year-old man was arrested for allegedly possessing methamphetamine after a traffic stop at 9:39 p.m. Friday in the 1500 block of A Street, police report.

Jason L. Bailey was stopped for an observed state vehicle code violation, according to Charleston police. When the Charleston man was stopped, police say a Charleston police K-9 dog alerted to “the presence of narcotics.” Bailey’s 2000 GMC Sierra was then searched, yielding evidence of meth, police stated.

Bailey was placed in the Coles County Safety and Detention Center pending a $3,000 bond payment required for release. Charleston police seized the 2000 GMC Sierra driven by Bailey at the time pending a property seizure hearing, according to police.
