MATTOON (JG-TC) -- Police officers arrested a Mattoon man Friday on a charge of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine.
A Mattoon Police Department press release reported that Sciler A.D. Gould, 21, of Mattoon was arrested on this charge at 4:21 a.m. in the 2000 block of Shelby Avenue after he was stopped by police for alleged traffic violations while traveling on his scooter. The charge alleges that Gould had possession of meth with intentions of distributing it at the time of this traffic stop. He was taken to the Coles County jail.
Separately, Zachary C. Kowalis, 31, of Mattoon was arrested on a charge of criminal trespass at 11:47 p.m. Saturday in the 1800 block of South Ninth Street. The charge alleges that Kowalis was found to be on the property of Sunrise Apartments after having previously been banned from that location. Kawolis was taken to the jail.
In another matter, David J. Johnson, 48, of Mattoon was arrested on charges of domestic battery and possession of a controlled substance at 6:25 a.m. Saturday in the 500 block of North 15th Street. The charges allege that Johnson battered a female during a domestic dispute and he had possession of a controlled substance at the time. Johnson was taken to the jail.
