MATTOON (JG-TC) -- Police officers arrested a man Thursday who was wanted on a U.S. Marshal’s Service warrant.

A Mattoon Police Department press release reported that Marion E. Rush Jr., 50, homeless and formerly of Texas, was arrested at 4:04 p.m. at the Matttoon Area PADS homeless shelter, 2017 Broadway Ave. The U.S. Marshall’s Service warrant of arrest was out of Lubbock, Texas, for Rush's alleged violation of his terms of supervised release.

Rush was originally sentenced to a term of 37 months incarceration in federal prison for threatening the U.S. president and for aiding and abetting. Rush was taken to the Coles County jail and held without bond, pending his release to the U.S. Marshal’s Service and return to Lubbock.
