NEOGA (JG-TC) — A Neoga man was killed in a single-vehicle accident at 11 a.m. Saturday at the U.S. Route 45 and Illinois Route 121 junction, police reported.

Henry Overmyer, 81, died after he lost control of his Ford F-150 pickup truck while traveling northbound on Route 45. He left the roadway, went into the ditch, crossed Route 121 and drove through a second ditch before striking a tree, Illinois State Police reported.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Cumberland County coroner.

He was not wearing a seatbelt, police reported.
