LERNA (JG-TC) -- A presentation on Abraham Lincoln's time as an attorney and how it helped lead to his becoming president is scheduled for Saturday at Lincoln Log Cabin State Historic Site.
The presentation "From the Circuit to the Presidency" by Guy Fraker is scheduled for 2 p.m. in the site's visitors center.
Fraker is a lawyer and author from Bloomington and has done research on Lincoln's Illinois law career.
According to information from the historic site, his presentation will be about Lincoln's time as a lawyer and how it helped him build a network that led to his Republican Party nomination for president.
There will be no charge to attend the presentation and the site's gift shop has copies of Fraker's book for sale and available for him to sign, the information from the site said.
Lincoln Log Cabin State Historic Site is located in southern Coles County and features the last home of Thomas and Sarah Bush Lincoln, who were Abraham Lincoln's father and stepmother.
