CHARLESTON (JG-TC) -- A two month local police investigation into the distribution of methamphetamine in the Coles County area lead to the arrest of seven area people, according to Charleston police.  

The investigation was conducted by the East Central Illinois Task Force in cooperation with Charleston Police Department and the Coles County Sheriff's Office Oct. 24, a Charleston police press release reported. 

The following arrests were a result of the investigation: 

-- Ricky Curtis, 38, of Charleston was arrested for unlawful use of weapon by a felon, armed violence, possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver and for being wanted on a warrant for unlawful distribution of methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance.

-- Kayla M. Henry, 27, of Charleston was arrested for being wanted on warrant for a failure to appear for possession of a controlled substance, burglary and possession of a hypodermic syringe.

-- Kayla J. Nunes, 34, of Charleston was arrested for obstruction of justice to avoid apprehension, possession of methamphetamine and for being wanted on a warrant for a failure to appear for driving while suspended and driving under the influence.

-- Timothy J. Cox, 36, of Charleston was arrested for charges for possession of methamphetamine with an intent to deliver.

-- Josiah M. Blakemore, 25, of Mattoon was arrested for being wanted on a warrant for possession of a controlled substance.

-- Jordan S. Hays, 23, of Charleston was arrested for burglary and forgery.

-- Benjamin D. Elston, 29, of Villa Grove was arrested for being wanted on a warrant for possession of stolen property.
