Mattoon fire

Firefighters responded at 4:17 a.m. Wednesday to a fire alarm caused by an alarm system malfunction at the Carle facility at 1000 S. Lerna Road.

Vehicles driven by Nicole R. Wilson of Mattoon and Christian B. Towle of Sullivan were involved in a collision at 3:50 p.m. Tuesday at 19th Street and Western Avenue.

Danny C. Leonard of Litchfield was ticketed for failing to yield for a collision with a vehicle driven by Lawrence D. Niegowski of Charleston at 12:33 p.m. Tuesday in the 1100 block of Lake Land Boulevard. Mattoon Fire Department ambulance crews took Leonard and his two passengers, Janice M. Leonard and Lisa M. Hoskins of Litchfield, to Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center for treatment of injuries.

Allie R. Young of Charleston was ticketed for failing to give information after striking unattended vehicles for a collision with parked vehicles, belonging to Doty G. Jennings of Charleston and Brock J. Lamar of Mattoon, at 12:43 a.m. Nov. 11 in the parking lot of Johnny's, 516 Piatt Ave.

Bicyclist Paul Abernathy of Charleston pulled out in front of a vehicle driven by Sara Jennings of Charleston at 3:48 p.m. Nov. 27 at the intersection of University Drive and West Pierce Avenue.

Logan Schaeffer of Charleston rear ended an auto driven by Shinichiro Ohira of Charleston in a vehicle accident at 9:41 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Division Street.

A vehicle driven by Conni Poulter of Charleston struck a residence owned by Julie Kerz at 12:43 p.m. Friday at 775 W Elm Ave. The vehicle damaged a glass front door and frame.

Vehicles driven by Elizabeth McPherson of Naperville and Sheri O'Neal of Charleston were involved in an accident at 8:24 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Garfield Avenue and 18th Street. McPherson was cited for failure to yield.

Vehicles driven by Frank Zeigler of Charleston and Dylen Decker of Lerna were involved in an accident at 5:57 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Madison Avenue and Ninth Street. Zeigler was cited for failure to yield.

Vehicles driven by Jacqueline Schaefer and Bailey Crites, both of Charleston, were involved in an accident at 2:39 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Fourth Street. The accident resulted in damage to an Ameren light pole at the scene. Schaefer was cited for driving too fast for conditions.

Abraham Dones of Charleston was distracted by another crash and rear-ended Zachery Robbins of Charleston in a vehicle accident at 2:57 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Sixth Street. Dones was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
