MATTOON (JG-TC) -- The University of Illinois Springfield is scheduled to offer transfer advising hours this fall at Lake Land College.
Office hours will be held for advising and counseling students who are earning associate's degrees at Lake Land and are considering transferring to U of I Springfield.
Bryan Burrell, academic counselor at Lake Land, said in a press release that they are pleased to see that the college's students will have additional opportunities to learn about the transfer options at U of I Springfield. He said it will be beneficial for them be able to meet face-to-face on campus with a transfer admissions representative to create a seamless plan for transferring.
Raymond Barnett, undergraduate transfer admissions coordinator at U of I Springfield, said Lake Land is a reliable transfer partner and a community college that has been "ahead of the curve" with the university in developing curriculum agreements in business and computer science.
U of I Springfield is scheduled to hold transfer office hours on Nov. 6, 13, and 27 and Dec. 4. The hours are 9:30-11 a.m. at the Transfer Student Center in Northwest Building 027, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Luther Student Center, and 12:30-1:30 p.m. at the Transfer Student Center.
