MATTOON (JG-TC) -- Mattoon's annual Veterans Day parade and ceremony are scheduled to be held today.

The parade will begin at 10 a.m. at Western Avenue and 21st Street. The procession will travel east on Western and then Broadway Avenue to Peterson Park. The parade will conclude at Sixth Street at the Vietnam memorial at the southwest corner of the park, where the ceremony will be held at 11 a.m.

Parade participants are asked to line up starting at 9 a.m. along Western, west of 21st, in the following order. The parade roster is as follows.

South side of 21st and Western: police car, VFW color guard, VFW truck and trailer, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion Post 88, Sons of the American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, Toldeo American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

North side of 21st and Western: National Guard, Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree Color Guard, Mattoon High School JROTC, Mattoon Middle School band, Mattoon Education Association/MESPA, United Way of Coles County, United Way of Coles County, Coles County Veterans Support Coalition.

South side of 22nd and Western: Exchange Club, Coles County Sheriff's Office, Consolidated Communications, Little Miss Coles County 2017 Khloe Frederick, Niemeyer Kubota Sales, Sunburst State Queen, Cliff Cobert/Scoot Coupe.

North side of 22nd and Western: Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois, ARB Miss Land of Lincoln Excellence Teen, 2017 Preteen Miss Greenup Fall Festival, 2017 Junior Miss Greenup Fall Festival, 2017 Miss Greenup Fall Festival, Rural King.

South side of 23rd and Western: Mattoon fire truck, Lincoln Fire Protection District, Lincoln Fire Protection Auxiliary.
