I just came into possession of fund raising letters from Dick Durbin and Keith Ellison. They seem bizarre, to say the least. They were based on lies and more lies.
Dick Durbin writes about how unpresidential it is that Republicans changed the Senate rules to get Judge Gorsuch on the Supreme Court. Of course he neglects to mention that the Democrats did the same thing several times for judges in lower courts and he supported it then. He also neglects to mention that he voted for Gorsuch earlier for a different court. He insinuates that Republicans say Gorsuch will stick to the Constitution as written. What’s wrong with that? Well, according to Durbin, at the beginning of our country, Blacks were only considered 3/5 of a man and neither they nor women could vote. What does this mean? Absolutely nothing, since the Constitution was amended to let both Blacks and women vote. So why would Mr. Durbin bring this up? He is riling people up for money and he thinks most of his flock will believe whatever he says. Either that or he is remarkably ignorant, which I don’t believe.
Keith Ellison writes that all Trump does is play golf. He must not have counted how many times Obama played golf when he was President. He blames Trump for not rebuilding our infrastructure. He must not remember when Obama put $1 Trillion into infrastructure and nothing happened for 8 years. Trump hasn’t been in 4 months yet, Keith, so have a little patience. He wants to eliminate Trump’s wasteful spending. Huh? Obama spent more than the first 43 presidents combined. He wants more jobs for the middle class. Trump getting rid of unnecessary regulations, bringing back energy production and business will move more people off a dependency class to middle class. I can understand his worry. Democrats’ ace in the hole is putting as many people as possible on the government dole. If people move up, they won’t need government help so much. That’s what the Democrat party has been moving toward since LBJ’s time.
Keep writing the letters full of lies, guys. If you don’t, what else will you have?
