On last Thursday (3-30-17), I met with my Cardiologist: Dr. LaMonto and gave him a bear-hug because of the wonderful results my Echocardiogram had displayed pertaining to the results; my Life Vest/Heart Monitor had produced during the three troubling months, that I had worn it.
When I had asked Dr. LaMonto if I could write about the good results, his answer was “Please do.” Adding, “That there are a few hundred patients; in the Mattoon area, who like you have struggled with wearing The Vest/Monitor and need to know that indeed; it can produce similar good results for them.”
I need to backup and clarify what all this means to you, whom have not experienced heart problems, as this is high tech equipment which can relay to the doctors what is going on, in a patient’s heart.
The Vest was uncomfortable to sleep in and had to have it’s battery changed daily, plus being laundered every 2 or 3 days and removed each time the patient bathes or showers to protect the sensitive ingredients that feels a bit like sleeping on small rocks.
My intent is to share it was not easy to wear! Also this high tech information is processed in a Heart Monitor that must be connected at all times. I had mine looped over my shoulder to keep it safe, as all the equipment weighs about ten pounds. Thus, at various times I kept threatened to just get rid of all it.
However, to make a long story short my vest and monitor were very effective and have restored my heart to the 30 percent of strength it had lost during my heart attack, three months ago!!!
I want to encourage all the patients who are in the midst of wearing one, which Dr. LaMonto told me about, “Do not give up.”
