CHARLESTON (JG-TC) — A Charleston woman backed her truck into a pedestrian after an argument they had Monday morning.

Gina L. Giberson, 46, of 207 Vine Ave., and Larry A. Steeples, 52, of 260 N. 10th St., were fighting around 10:44 a.m. Monday on 10th Street, according to the accident report.

During the argument, Steeples went to retrieve an item from Giberson’s truck, when she then proceeded to reverse her truck quickly into Steeples and backed into him, causing him to fall to the ground, according to the report.

Giberson then drove off from the area of the argument. Giberson told police that she did reverse her truck into Steeples because “she was afraid for her safety.”

The Charleston Fire Department evaluated Steeples, who refused to be treated, the report said.

Giberson was cited for improper backing.
