DECATUR — Illinois Sen. Chapin Rose will now be easier to contact for residents in the northwest portion of his new district.
The newly sworn-in senator of the 51st District announced Wednesday the opening of a district office in Decatur for constituents who seek to contact him or learn more about state business.
Rose, a Mahomet Republican, said alongside the opening of new offices across the district he will continue to tour the 51st, which covers parts of Macon, DeWitt, Piatt and Shelby counties and stretches east to the Indiana border, to learn more of the constituents needs.
“It is very important for me that the citizens of the 51st have an easily accessible legislator,” he said.
The office is at 5130 Hickory Point Frontage Road, Suite 103. Beverly Offer, a former aide to state Sen. Kyle McCarter, R-Lebanon, will take the reins of his new Decatur office.
Rose also opened a district office in Champaign and said there are plans to open additional satellite offices in the next few weeks.
State Rep. Adam Brown also announced Wednesday the opening of a district office in Champaign. In addition to the district office in Champaign, Brown, a Champaign Republican, will be holding traveling office hours at various county Farm Bureau offices throughout the district.
Brown, who chose to run for re-election last November in the new 102nd House District, which includes all or portions of Champaign, Douglas, Edgar, Macon, Moultrie, Shelby and Vermilion counties, said he looked forward to learning more from his constituents.
“I am eager to get to know the good folks throughout my new district,” Brown said.
