In reference to the latest school shooting, people are asking why? In my personal opinion, here’s why. Some children have no stability, role models, to teach them respect, love, compassion, or last of all spiritual directions.
It’s not the Government’s job, or taking away guns or adding more Mental Health clinics The psychiatrist on T.V. said the “shooter” was a “broken kid.” How many other kids are “broken” by age 5 or 6, from no attention, being cursed at or smacked around, in other words “de-valued” and not even taught the basic essentials for living in this society.
Teachers have to feed kids breakfast in school, etc. and are starting to teach kids respect and compassion on the playground. In my opinion, it’s NOT a teacher’s job, Government’s, or gun control, it is a parental responsibility. Kids who are treated badly and no self-esteem are going to rebel.
As far as hunger, the Charleston Food Pantry and Soup Stop make sure kids have food in class.
