It is with pleasure and conviction that I plan to vote for Jackie Freezeland for Coles County Clerk. She is more than qualified for this position.
I have known Jackie’s mom, Beth Keown Scism, since we were in first grade at Washington School in the early 60’s so that means that I have known Jackie for all of her life. Her grandparents, Dale and Irene Keown, were like my second parents. Her Uncles -- Frank and Brian Keown -- both reside in Coles County. She comes from good people.
Jackie graduated with honors from Eastern Illinois University with a B.S. in Business with an Accounting major in 2005. She worked for First Mid-Illinois Bank and Trust for over 14 years. She is organized to the point of perfection and her work ethic is incredible. She has a special capacity and enthusiasm for giving back to her community. Her volunteer activities are too numerous to mention but include helping to raise money for the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital and ALS research, city-wide rummage sales, and picking up trash at Ashmore Ag Days.
I am confident that Jackie will take on this leadership role and be able to manage the County Clerk’s office efficiently and effectively. She has the educational and career background to be able to make administrative and business decisions that the citizens of Coles County can trust.
