The last few weeks has brought bad behavior of our elected officials out in the open. We continue to see there are different rules and laws for citizens in private business environments versus the political elite in Washington, D.C.
When has sexual abuse, assault, and harassment been tolerated to the extent we now see exist in our Congress? We now find out the good-old-boys club has a secret slush fund to pay off victims so that these affairs are swept under the rug. It is our tax money they are using to silence these victims from speaking out. This is definitely illegal use and misappropriation of government funds. When will these people be held to the same level of responsibility as a private citizen? When will justice be given to these criminal offenses and compensation to victims? The ethics committee will not punish these offenders because like mentioned before, “this is a good-old-boys club.”
We need Congress to correct all these elitist rules of: no slush fund, no policy inhibiting a victim from filing an attack, no keeping elected office, and demanding action for term limits on all Congress.
